Moths Problem and its cure

Getting constant supply of fresh and delicious fruit from your backyard is a real joy and many people enjoy intense labor just to fulfill this dream. Most of us don’t take it serious but always keep in mind that your fruit can easily get serious infestation of worms in no time. I really hate biting my delicious apple just to check whether there are worms in it or not. It is so unpleasant to find that the pesticides you used have not worked a lot and the fruit you have got is a perfect house of worms.

Never ever forget spraying good quality pesticides on your tree. Many people think that doing this frequently is nothing but a waste of time. This is a false idea and can lead to destruction even after lots of care and intense labor. You should make habit of spraying pesticide after every two weeks.

Spraying is not an easy process and a lot of work is involved in all this. You have to buy all the supplies, mix the chemicals, apply them, and clean up everything you used in the process. Not only this, you may also have to take the help of ladder to reach those parts of tree which are not easily approachable. If you have an orchard the spraying process can take like four hours. Of course repeating the same process after every two weeks can irritate you but remember consistency is the key to success. Sometimes even the regular spraying does not work and your fruit get infected by worms and moths.

You can check whether your tree is infected or not by looking at end of branches because moths normally lay eggs by ends of branches. If you find such branch, chop it off and destroy it as soon as possible and check whole tree with full care and attention. If unfortunately you find large amount of moth larvae crawling into your tree and through your tree, it means the eggs are about to hatch. That can be really frustrating for you!

Let me tell you my friend’s experience whose tree was suffering through a very bad moth infestation. All of his fruits were badly infected by this. He was so depressed that he cut down the whole tree and what he found under the stump was a wriggling mass of white larvae. I can not forget that scene ever! Removing your old tree just because of moths and doing a new one from the scratch is really a work that requires lot of patience.

I never experienced any such problem with my trees despite of the fact that I am living in the same area as that of my friend. I believe this is the result of my useful habit of going outside every Saturday during spring time and spraying down my entire tree. You will surely not wish to cut down your whole tree just because of little laziness. So do proper spraying with full heart before it gets too late.

You should not waste more time if you haven’t used any spraying pesticides in the past. Always look out for the pests that attack your area mostly and then buy the appropriate pesticide. If you do proper spraying I assure you these pests will never ever visit your tree again.
